Importance of forest

The forest is an important natural resource. It's essentialities are very vast. In other words, the importance of the forest is infinite. Without forests, the lives of the living beings is almost impossible. It provides us our basic needs and fulfills our other requirements and demands.

The forest is a source of energy. It provides fuel wood which is one of the main power source. The forest is also a source of raw materials. It supplies medicinal herbs, grass, cane, bamboo, fruits, wood, etc. It is a source of animal habitat. We can find more than half percent of the terrestrial and aquatic animals in the forest. It is also the source of fodder. The forest has a beauty on it's own. So it is a natural beauty.

It promotes tourism. The main importance of forest is that it maintains the ecological balance which is very necessary. It helps to promote industries as well.

The forest controls the soil erosion, landslides and flood and it provides us with oxygen and fresh air. It is a cause for rainfall. The roots of the trees helps to bind the soil which helps in avoiding natural destruction and natural calimities. Thus, there are lots of importance of forest.
